The big academic opera and ballet theatre of name Alisher Navoi is included into a cohort of the best opera theatres of the world. Here there are performances both world classical repertoire, and product of national authors. The theatre building built in 1947 and sustained without damage the strongest earthquake of 1966, belongs to typical examples of monuments of architecture of middle of XX century. The author of the project of theatre is the known architect, academician Alexey Shusev, who has built the Mausoleum in the Red Square in Moscow. |
